Nicoll Sill Family Ground
Bethlehem, Albany County, New York
Survey conducted by Richard J. & Margaret H. Thayer in the 1950's, as well
as William V. Hannay and Russel Bruce Rankin. The DAR also did a reading
in the  early part of the 1900's.

South on Route 144 to Cedar Hill, cross the Vlaumanskill and turn left on
the road to the treatment plant. Burial ground is on the right enclosed in a
green woven wire fence.

The grave of "Old Caeser" is somewhere in this burial ground. He was born
a slave and spent his entire 115 years of life in service to the Nicolls
family at Bethlehem House. His original stone disappeared in the late
1920's. A new marker purchased by school children now stands next to his
first master to the memory of this extraordinary man.
