The Black Rock was the favorite ship
of fleet owner Magnus Hanso. It was
this ship that he and his childhood
friends made many journeys on. The
Black Rock had a crew of 16 officers
from Huntingdonshire, England as well
as about 20-25 transient hands who
were rarely on the return voyage
back to Portsmouth.These trips were
always very secretive in nature, and
by far very mysterious as compared to
the cargo of the remainder of the
New World Sea Traders. The New
World Sea Traders dealt in ores,
pottery, liquors, foods and even some
human cargo. The Black Rock failed to
leave any bills of lading so its cargo is
unknown, its destinations
unknown...its final resting place
unknown. It has been recorded that
the ship always left riding low in the
water and always quietly slipped
away during the night. Perhaps some
day some of the mysteries of The
Black Rock and its crew may be solved.
