County Homes
Poor Houses, County Farms, County Homes, Almshouses...early places those
down on their luck were placed in. Many times they were forgotten, their
headstones a simple cement cylinder with a number on it, stripped of their
name and heritage. These pages will list all of the names and details that I
have available. It should be noted that some county homes evolved to paid
homes and were not exclusively for the poor.
