Family Bible in English; The Southwestern Co., Nashville, Tenn., 1892.

The Bible is now in the possession of the C. G. Brisee Genealogy Library,
Irwin, Iowa.

The Family Bible of Robert Dyre and La Verda (Baker) Welton of Richfield,
Illinois. The Bible is in poor condition, the Family Register pages have many
area that have chipped off. Included is 8 pages of compiled family history,
although they don't have a lot of detail, they do give descent of the family.

Kent Hull will be admitted to Illinois bar
Kent Hull of Urbana, son of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Hull of 16 ken Mar Terrace, will
be admitted to the Illinois Bar Association Monday in Springfield where
Supreme court Justice Robert Underwood will administer the oath for
admission.
Hull received his juris doctor degree from the University of Illinois Law School
in Urbana last June. Last year he remained on campus to serve as a student
legal counselor.

Big Rock Man Promoted To
Commander in U. S. N. R.

Robert J. Welton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Welton, Big Rock, has been
promoted to the rank of commander in the U. S. Naval Reserve.
Cmdr. Welton is attached to the Navy Control of Shipping Organization
Division 9-1 at the Great Lakes Naval Reserve Center.
A Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps graduate (NROTC) from the University
of Illinois in Champaign, he spent three and a half years in active duty
beginning in 1958, serving in various assignments at Treasure Island, Calif.,
and Taipei, Formosa.
He is a graduate of West Auroroa High School and is associated with the
Chicago Division of Schlage Lock Co. of San Francisco. He joined the firm in
San Francisco 12 years ago.
Welton is married, and the couple has two children. They reside in Big Rock.

Idella Water Dies, Teacher 28 Years

Plainville, Ill., Feb. 28. Miss Idella Waters, 56, of Plainville died Sunday
morning at 8:30 in Blessing hospital at Quincy, where she had been a patient
since Jan. 19. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 in the
Methodist church here in charge of the Rev. James McCallister of Roodhouse,
assisted by the Rev. B. Clark Bessett, local pastor. Burial will be in Stewart
cemetery.
Miss Waters had been a mathematics teacher in Central High school at Flint,
Mich., for 28 years before returning to Plainville about five years ago to be
with her parents. She was born at Plainville Sept. 29, 1898. Her parents were
Frank and Nellie Blauser Waters. She graduated from Quincy High school and
Northwestern university and received her master's degree in mathematics at
Columbia university. Miss Waters was a member of the local Methodist church
and was teacher of the primary Sunday school class.
Surviving are the parents; two sisters, Mrs. Milton Ingold of Milwaukee and
Mrs. Harold Warner of Knoxville, Tenn., and three nephews.
