Perry Green Wells II Family Bible
Holy Bible in English; American Bible Society, New York, 1852.

The Family Bible of Perry Green and Charlotte Elizabeth (Bucklin) Wells of
Mount Holly and Wallingford, Rutland County, Vermont. Perry died in Burton,
MN and Charlotte died in Watertown, SD. There were photographs in an
accompanying photo album which is scanned and posted on one of our
library's photo websites
www.picsadilly.com
All the photos are on the Wells Family Album and noted as coming from the
Wells/Farnsworth Family Album. There were a few inserted in the Bible as
well, but I've included them on the photo  album page. I've also posted
Perry's grandfather's Family Bible pages to this site under Perry G. Wells I, as
he is also named Perry Green Wells.

The Bible and Photo Album are now in the possession of the C. G. Brisee
Genealogy Library - Irwin, Iowa.

Insertions
Obituaries pasted on the inside front cover:

From Earth to Heaven
Perry G. Wells, after a long and serious sickness, died at the residence of his
daughter in town of Burton.
He was born March 16, 1821, in town of Wallingford, Rutland Co., Vt. He
was the oldest child of a family of 10, three boys and seven girls. When a
mere boy he moved with his father to [New} York state, where he spent the
morning of his life on a farm with his father. At the age of 21 he was given
charge of his grandfather's farm, where he remained until the death of his
grandfather severed them apart.
In 1852 Sept. 15 he was married to Miss Charlotte E. Bucklen. In 1854
being pleased with the prospects of the west, he moved with his wife and
child to Dupage Co. Ill., where he remained only a short period of his life.
Being somewhat displeased with the climate of Ill., it being somewhat
different to that of Vt., in 1856 he moved to Iowa, where he spent 27 years
of his life, farming being his principle occupation, and in 1878 he moved with
his family to Minnesota. Here he spent the remain[d]er of his days, and on
June 1, he closed the evening of his life, and passed away to quiet sleep.

[obituary]
Perry G. Wells, of Burton, who for some time past had been quite sick, died
Saturday evening, at the age of 74. He was born in Vermont, in 1821 and
came here in 1877. He leaves a wife and four grown children. The funeral took
place Tuesday, the services being conducted by Rev. Blaker. The corpse was
taken to Canby for interment.

[obituary]
Minart Wells died Sunday evening, Oct. 6, 1895, at the home of his son, A. B.
Wells, at Goodwin, S. D. after an extended illness or disablement of over
three years. Three years ago last March he received a stroke of paralysis
which partially paralyzed both body and mind.
Deceased was born in Wallingford, Rutland county, Vermont, in the year
1822, and died at the age of 72 years, 11 months and 2 days. From Vermont
he moved to New York State in the year 1830, where he was married to
Permilia Baker thirty-five years ago. In April, 1881, the wife died.
Last June r. A. B. Wells had his father come to live with him at Goodwin.
At the time of his death both his sons A. B. and W. C. Wells were with him.
Deceased in early youth became a member of the First Baptist church of
War[r]ensburgh, N. Y. His two sons are the only surviving members of the
family, his brother, Perry G. Wells, having died this Summer.
The remains were brought here for burial Tuesday and services conducted
in the M. E. church by the Baptist minister, Rev. K. A. Myers.
The deceased not being a resident here for any length of time was not
generally known, but his life work among those who did know him has been
influential for good and such as to command the respect and honor of all.
Then grieve not for him whose spirit has gone to that untrodden shore, nor
wish to call to live again the pure and justified.
