George Turner Family Bible
| Holy Bible in English; Philadelphia, Kimber & Sharpless, [no date] The Bible is now in the possession of the C. G. Brisee Genealogy Library, Irwin, Iowa. The family Bible of George and Jane (Clifton) Turner. It appears the first seven children were born in Lincolnshire, England near Gainsborough. The last four children born in either Buffalo or Clyde, NY. There are no family pages, but the birth information is written on the inside of the front cover. George and Jane Clifton Turner were married at Torksey, Lincolnshire England, Aug. 7th, 1854. To this union the following children were born: Christopher Clifton, June 26, 1855. Eliza, May 31, 1857. Harriatt Ann, March, 10, 1859. Mary Jane, Jan, 20, 1861. Rebecca, May 22, 1863 (1863.) (Rebeckah)[in pencil] Elizabeth Maude, April 11, 1865 {1865.) Emma, Feb. 1, 1868. Jeannette, May 18, 1870. Buffalo N.Y. George Thomas, Sept. 1, 1872 - - - - Ellen m., Jan 6, 1875. Near Clyde James Footritt, Jan 25, 1880 Clyde [the number 25 is corrected from the number 26] All children Born in england were born in Lincolnshire. near Gainsborough. |
