Stephen Terhune Family Bible
| Holy Bible in Dutch. Transcription taken from the Somerset County Historical Quarterly, vol. 2, 1913, page 130. In possession of Mrs. Matilda B. Wilson, of Bayonne, a great-great-granddaughter, is the family Bible of Stephen Terhune, who resided, a century ago and earlier, about two miles west of Millstone, his homestead being lately occupied by Mr. Frank Fisher. The following is taken from this Bible, over half the entries being in Dutch, which is here translated and condensed. The errors noted in the statement of ages are such as seem not to have been uncommon in Bible entries of that period. Gerret Terhune, b. Aug. 30, 1709; d. Sept. 20, 1781; aged 72 yrs., 21 days.
