Tamera Ann Yoakum married Dennis James Hess Oct 15. 1994 at Aroma Park Methodist Church [Funeral Notice] Charles Stanley Yoakum (Jr) 1929 - 1987 Born Dec. 14. 1929 - Passed Aug 5. 1987 Memorial Services for Chuck Yoakum were held sun Aug 9, 1987 at 3 P.M. at Methodist Church of Aroma with Spencer Barnard officiating. Spencer said this is a celebration of Chuck's life. He spoke of Chuck's friendship thru years. Their being in Tee Shop and Golfing together. He asked for ones, if they would like to tell of their knowing him. He said the large crowd in attendance spoke highly of him. Bob Saffel formerly of Hoopeston and Milton Linn and others offered thots. Gene Carius told of his & Chuck's years together at A. O. Smith. They became acquainted when they took their physicals to become employees. They built several houses together and played together. They were called Mutt and Jeff or Gold Dust Twins at work as they were always not far apart. Gene sang "Precious Jesus take My Hand. The Crazy Horse, Spencer Barnard, Gene Carius, Trent Vimpeny, Ken Johnston sang "How Great Thou Art" with Nellie Bates accompaning. Many Floral memorials & money were given. A picture Chuck and Leslie Barnard painted years ago on wall of nursery was framed by Momence Firm with some of the money. Also a clock purchased that is located in Fellowship Hall and two Pedestal Fans for church use in loving memory of Chuck. Ladies of Church served lunch following services. We were invited to Dick and Ann's afterwards to be together. Chuck had requested he be cremated and his ashes spread on golf course grounds at Augusta, Ga. He said some of his happiest times of his life were when he was there. Lynda fulfilled his wishes. She consulted with officials at Golf club they said this was not possible as they were always open. Lynda chartered a private plane to drive her over the golf course and she scattered his ashes over golf course. [obit][Died August 18, 1916] Victim Great White Plague Anson Browne Stricken in Prime of Life. Funeral at Christian Church Thursday Anson Browne, eldest son of the late Dr. W. S. and Mrs. Browne died Tuesday forenoon at his home on Camp Avenue following a lingering illness with lung trouble. The disease first manifested itself three years ago while he was living in Kansas City. He went with his family to Phoenix, Arizona. About two months ago, realizing that the end was near, he came with his little family to Watseka to be among relatives. Anson was born at Woodland, December 10, 1878 and was 38 years old. The family moved to Watseka in 1892. Anson entered High School, graduating with the class of '95. He afterward went to a farm in Missouri. In 1908 he was married at Kansas City to Miss Iva Schultz, a former Watseka girl. She and their two children, Jerome, aged 5 and Imogene, aged 2 years, survive. Other relatives are his mother, Mrs. Keziah Browne, two brothers, Sheriff H. M. Browne and William Browne, a sister, Mrs. J. A. Wilson all of Watseka and another sister, Mrs. Franc Coates of Oklahoma City. After leaving the farm he was employed in Kansas City as baggage clerk for the Kansas City & Southern Railway. Old friends here and at Woodland will sympathize with the bereaved relatives in the taking off of this young man in the very prime of life. Funeral services will be held at the Christian Church, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be at Oak Hill. [Link to findagrave.com Anson Browne] [obit] Mrs. Fager Mrs. Fager passed away Friday at her home north of town after a lingering illness. She is survived by her husband and two sons. Funeral services were conducted from the United church Sunday afternoon, November 10 and burial was in Evergreen cemetery. [obit] Called To Her Reward Mrs. Harvey H. Fager, a well known and highly respected citizen of Otto township for many years, answered the final summons Friday night, Nov. eighth, following a lingering illness extending over a period of several years. Ella Schultz, daughter of the late John J. and Margaret Steele Schultz, was born at Watseka, Oct. 18, 1871, and departed this life Nov. 8, 1935, being 64 years and 20 days of age. She united with the Christian Church when a young girl. On Sept. 4, 1895, she was united in marriage to Mr. Harvey H. Fager at Watseka. To this union four children were born. A son, Cecil, preceded his mother in death. Besides the grief stricken husband, she is survived by three sons - Preston of Kankakee, Perry and Clarence of Chebause. A sister, Mrs. William Yoakum of Hoopeston, two brothers, Philip Schultz of Mankato, Minn., and Osborn Schultz of Shawno, Wis. Five grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held from the United Church, Sunday afternoon at two o'clock. Rev. Bruce Masselink paid a high tribute to the departed. Interment occurred in Evergreen cemetery. The following were pall bearers: Messrs. Edward Hissong, George Bosley, Herman Schultz, Sam Ifflaud, Henry Rain and Ben Hadden. Mrs. Fagen was a gentlewoman, and radiated happiness and good cheer in her circle of loved ones. Her early demise will be regretted by many. Browne, 18, son of Mrs. Iva Brown Wilson, of Kentland, Ind., died at Iroquois hospital of spinal meningitis, at 6:30 o'clock Wednesday morning. He was brought to the hospital a week ago. Funeral arrangements have not been made. The deceased was born June 23, 1911, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Hanson L. and Iva Schultz Browne. The family moved to Watseka when he was a child and he attended the schools here. The father died Aug. 8, 1916. Surviving are the mother and a stepfather, Worthy Wilson, and two sisters, Imogene Browne and Marion Wilson. The body is at the L. B. Segur Undertaking rooms.
