Contains the records of Benjamin Rhoades and Rachel, his wife, and descended to the present owner, Miss Elizabeth Prescott Hale, of Yonkers, New York. She is the great-great-great-great-granddaughter of the original owner. Joseph Pettes was Born July 22nd 1757 Charlotte Pettes born Novr. 24th 1761 were married the 18th day of April 1782 Joseph Pettes died December 5th 1811 Benjamin Rhoades Died June 25 1773, aged 68 Rachel Rhoades Died March 25, 1782 aged 83 John Pettes D'd June 20th 1790 in the 81st year of his age. Benjamin Rhoades was born the 12th Day of June 1704 Rachel Rhoades was born 1698 October the 28 - - Day. Benjamin Rhoades His Bible 1769. Amherst, Nov. 10th 178(7), Dick Bottiswood was born Sunday Jany. 20th 1788, Polly Pettes was born. Tuesday, Feby. 17th 1789. 20 mts. after 7 o'clock P.M., Frederick Pettes was born. John Pettes born Sunday March 17th 1793 Freder'k Pettes married September [piece torn out here] 1814. [Piece torn out of the following four lines] H. Pettes born December ..arriet Mynderse born (Say Pettes) ...August 20th 1791, married to F. ....Pettes Sept. 25th 1814 Harriet Pettes died October 22nd 1816. [Note by present owner, Miss hale.] The Rhoades family came from England about 1746.
