Randel died September 11, 1898 [added information] Marcellus Observer 1895 J. W. Heustus and Helen Randall Instantly Killed by a Central Train. Syracuse, Aug. 13. - A special dispatch from Oneida says that J. W. Heustus of Crown Point and Miss Helen Randall of Oneida were struck and instantly killed by a Central train at Oneida Sunday night. They were walking on the track and a freight train drowned out the noise of the passenger train. The bodies were thrown 125 feet. Miss Randall was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ogden M. Randall, and was 25 years old. She was a graduate of the Oneida High School and from the Albany Normal School. At the time of her death she was a teacher at St. Johnsville, and was home on a visit to her parents. Mr. Heustus was 30 years of age, and was a member of the firm of Heustus Bros., furniture and hardware dealers at Crown Point. The couple were to have been married in October. |
