C. E. Nofer is Dead At 62
C. Ervin Nofer, administrative assistant with the Bureau of Motor Vehicles,
died of a liver ailment Monday. He was 62 and lived at 3094 Benbridge-rd. He
was a member of First Community church, Athletic Club, Phi Kappa Tau
fraternity, Engineer's Club, past president of Agonis Club, and had been with
bureau 29 years.
Surviving are his wife, Bea; son, Robert E., Los Angeles; two grandchildren;
brothers, Herman and William; sister, Mrs. Clara E. Eshew, Pataskala.
Friends may call at the Schoedinger State-st Funeral Home from 3 to 5 and 7
to 9 p.m. Tuesday where services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday. burial
will be in Green Lawn Cemetery.

Miss Ruth Mae Jordan, daughter of Frank H. Jordan, 826 Jefferson Avenue, and
the late Mrs. Jordan, will be  married to Forest Charles Sammans, Jr., son of
Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Sammons, 127 Woodland Drive, at 7:30 P.M.
The Rev. J. Sherrard Rice will preform the ceremony at teh Second
Presbyterian Church.
Miss Patricia Williamson will be honor attendant for Miss Jordan.  Bridesmaids
will be Miss Julia Ann Hatten, her cousin, Mrs. Marshall Hawkins, sister of the
prospective bridegroom, and Miss Phyllis Roe.
Lucien R. Sammons will be his brother's best man, and ushers will be
Frederick H. Sammons, another brother, Edward A. Sigler, Jr., Marshall
Hawkins, and Robert B. Cravens of Charleston.  Owen L. Duncan will be
master of ceremonies.
Assisting at a reception at the Hotel Frederick will be Mrs. Frank M. Black,
Mrs. C. A. King, Mrs. O. L. Duncan, Mrs. Eugene Firnkoess, Mrs. L. R.
Sammons, Mrs. C. C. Brown, Mrs. Mae Williamson, Mrs. F. H. Jordan, Miss
Betty Casto and Miss Ruth Jordan.

Mary Calvert
Mary W. Calvert, 80, of Columbus died Aug. 4.  She retired as a show director
for the Mid-America Hardware Show.  Survivors are her nieces, Nancy Rundels,
Torrie (Vince) Front, Tina (Tim) Rieder; and sister-in-law Bea Nofer.
Contributions in her memory may be made by Chosen People Ministries, 1300
Cross Beam Drive, Charlotte, N.C.; of High Water Congregational Church of
Christ, music department.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Schoedinger Northwest Chapel.
