Taylor Mary A. Hixson was born in Highland county, Ohio, Nov. 14, 1822. When thirteen years old she moved with her parents to Fulton county, Illinois. Was married to Joseph Taylor Oct. 13, 1839. Moved to Knox county in 1861, and except one year spent in Kansas the remainder of her life was spent here, where her death occured Jan. 7, 1899, aged 76 years, 1 month, and 24 days, surviving her husband some three years. Rev. Elsie Anderson preached the funeral in the Morse school house on the 9, interment in the Uniontown cemetery. Of the twelve children born to this old couple eight are living as follows: Mrs. Ida Felzer and Mrs. Eliza Hornback, Rapatee; Mrs. Mary Weir, Mrs. Melissa Stoka, Mrs. Sarah McCord, Mrs. Clara Hall, William and Alex Taylor. [In the 1880 census, Abraham and Eliza were residents of Maquon, Knox Co., IL, as were Eliza's parents, Joseph and Mary Taylor.] [Abram died January 1, 1909 and is buried in the Uniontown Cemetery, Knox Co., IL. Eliza also is buried there, died January 31, 1932. At least one of their children and Eliza parents are also buried in the Uniontown Cemetery.] The Bible is now in the possession of the C. G.
