The Bible is the record of the Dr. Lawson A. & Barbara (Whisenant) Hill of York Co., SC and Alcorn, MS. Additional resources show they were married by Rev. J. A. Davies in York Co., SC on April 20, 1858 [Marriage Notices, Yorkville Miscellany Newspaper, York co., SC], the 1880 census shows the family in District 3, Alcorn, MS. McPeters Funeral Home Records [page 86] of 1966 show that George Franklin Hill, born 07-22-1880 in Alcorn, MS & died 05-28-1966 in Corinth, MS, his wife, Laura Savage died in 1958. George was buried in New Hope Cemetery. He was the son of Dr. Lawson A. Hill and Barbara Whisenant, both of York Town, SC, and he had a nephew Dr. Stanley Hill. Owner's Inscription Dr. L. A.
