| Bible entries transcribed in a letter from Arminda Ann (Helme) Gilmore to her parents. She lists the births in what appears to be the Family Bible. Colchester Macth 17th 1861 Dear Father and Mother your letter came to hand on the 10 and was glad to hear from you all but sory to here that there was one less of our number that is the way I am afraid we will all pass away and never see each other in this world again. you are all so fare away and it is sick hard times fore money that we never expect to see many enough to pay our way so far it seems allmost impossible to git a bit. we want all of the rest of you to git your likeness taken and send them to us as soon as possible and we will do the same so that we will have something to look at when you are all fare away we beg of you to talk to the Children and not put it of any longer fore we know not what moment we may be cawled away to eternity we are vey ancious to have thre likness and to hare from you all ofton we have had one of the hardist kind of winters hear and has bin very unhealthy altho we have bin blest with very good helth in our family excepting once and a whild alittle could the putrid sore throught has ben very bad alround us some families have bin robed of every Child they had we have had three funerals in one day wich never was none here before some of them when laying them out was so bad that there heads would com luse from there body we would like to know the pertichlers of Edwards funeral whether every of his folks was there or not and where Mr Luckey lived Tel Samuel and George to wright to me and we will answer there letters rite of I cannot think of enything more to say to you heare I send you a reckord as it is in the Bible I want you to wright as soon as possible nothing present from youre affectionate Son and Daughter Arminda and Joseph B Gilmore [above written in blue ink, added in brown ink and in the same hand as the addition death entries below]: Mary fuller lives in Brownsvill Newbraska Ozias Helme born november. 10. 1812 died June the 7 (66 [or 60] Elizabeth Helme born October. 4. 1814 Arminda ann Helme born augest 9. 1833 George Helme born october. 24. 1834 Mary Helme born June. 1. 1836 Samuel Helme born may 13. 1838 Eliza Helme born June 1. 1840 died Oct 10 1866 David Henry Helme born June 17. 1843 William R Helme born march. 12. 1846 [corrected in brown ink to 1848] Edward Helme born June. 12. 1851 died febury 12 (66 Elizabeth Helme died october 30. 1855 Edward Helme died February 12. 1861 The letter in now in the possession of the C.
