George C. Swartz

Lewistown - George C. Swartz, 74, 49 Long Dr., R. D. 4, died Thursday at
William Penn Nursing Center. He was born March 8, 1902 in Yeagertown to
the late George C. and Blanche Leightley Swartz.
    His wife, Eleanor Lindemuth Swartz, survives along with a number of
nieces and nephews.
    In his early life, Swartz was a real estate salesman and southern
California sales representative for the A. L. Englehartt Company, Los Angeles,
Calif. He was a fabricator of dental materials for 15 years, retiring in 1967. He
was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church; Moneta Masonic Lodge, Los
Angeles, Calif.; Lewistown Chapter Royal Arch Masons; Lewistown Commandry
of Knights Templer; Jaffa Shrine, Altoona; a past patron of Lewistown Chapter
Order of Eastern Star No. 283; a member of Lewistown Country Club;
Lewistown University Club and Brooklyn Hose Company.
    A funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p. m. at Heller's Woodlawn Funeral
Home, with Rev. Robert G. Sandler officiating. Interment will be made at
Yeagertown Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral
home Saturday from noon until the time of the services. It is requested that
memorial gifts be made to the American Cancer Society.
