Cruger Family Bible
Holy Bible in English; title-page lacking but with Book of Common Prayer,
1715, bound in.

Contains the records of Henry Cruger (born 1707), son of John Cruger, mayor
of New York, and father of the Henry Cruger who was Member of Parliament
for Bristol, England, and prominent in the repeal of the Stamp Act.  It has
descended in direct line to Walton Oakley, Esq., of New York,
great-great-grandson of the original owner.

Mary. Thomas and Elizabeth. Died at Jamaica in the 57 year of his Age
Decem'r 18th 1736 and was Buried with his above Deceased Wife & Children
in the family Vault at Half Waytree in St Andrews Parish.

which Continued (by a Gerenral Computation) About 3 Minutes

Novem'r 22 1755. at 9. in the Evening felt a Small Shock of an Earth Quake
Continuing about half a minute

16h 1730/31. Saild over y'e barr of S. Carolina in Brig Samuel Capt. Peter

Capt. Peter Morgatt & Arrived at NYork y'e 26. March 1731.

1731. Saild from NYork in Sloop Mary Cap't Jacoby Kip for Jamaica to Settle in

My Daughter in Law Hannah Van Horne departed this Life Aug't 15h 1760 at
11 in the forenoon & was Buried y'e 17h Aug't in trinity Church Near her
Mother.

My Son John Harry Cruger. Marr'd to Ann DeLancy. Daughter of Oliver De Lancy
at Greenwich By the Reverend M'r Hen Barclay Dec'r 1762.
