Charles Chauncey Family Bible
Charles Chauncey (1747-1823)

Holy Bible in English; London, Charles Eyre and William Strahan, 1772.

It contains the records of Charles Chauncey (the grandson of Charles
Chauncey, 1592-1672, second President of Harvard College, 1654-1672) and of
Abigail Darling, his wife.  It is now the property of Mrs. Seth Low Pierrepont,
New York City, the great-granddaughter of the original owner.

Charles Chauncey, son of Elihu and Mary Chauncey, was born the 30th day of
May, A.D., 1747 O.S. 3 o'clock P.M.

Abigail Chauncey, daughter of Thomas and Abigail Darling was born 9th day of
Novr A.D., 1746 O.S. Married 2d Feby A.D. 1775.

Charles Chauncey, the son of Charles & Abigail Chauncey was born the 17th
day of August N.S. about 11 o'clock A.M. A.D. 1777, -Sabbath Day.

Elihu Chauncey, second son of Charles & Abigail Chauncey was born 15th day
of Jany A.D. 1779, about half an hour after 4 o'clock P.M. Friday.

Sarah Chauncey, daughter of Charles & Abigail Chauncey was born the 2nd of
Decem'r A.D. 1780 about half an hour after 4 o'Clock P>M> Saturday.

Abigail Chauncey, second daughter of charles & Abigail Chauncey was born the
29th day of June A.D. 1785 about seven o'clock A.M. Wednesday.

Nathaniel Chauncey, third son of Charles & Abigail Chauncey was born the
27th day of Feby A.D., 1789 about ¾ after 10 o'clock A.M., - Friday.

Abigail Chauncey, daughter of Thomas and Abigail Darling and the wife of
Charles Chauncey died the 24th day of December A.D. 1818, 20 Minutes after
9 o'clock A.M.

Abigail Chauncey, second daughter of Charles and Abigail Chauncey died the
14th day of June A.D. 1819 at 12 Minutes after eight o'clock P.M.

Charles Chauncey, son of Elihu and Mary Chauncey, died the 28th day of April
A.D., 1823, at four o'clock A.M.

Elihu Chauncey, second son of Charles and Abigail Chauncey, died at
Philadelphia on Thursday the eighth day of April, A.D. 1847 leaving two
daughters, Henrietta Chauncey and Sarah C. Savage surviving him.  His
remains were removed to Burlington, N.J. on the 13th of April 1847.

Charles Chauncey, eldest son of Charles and Abigail Chauncey, died at
Burlington, N.J., on Thursday the 30th of August 1847, leaving two daughters
Elizabeth C. and Hannah Chauncey His remains were removed to Philadelphia,
Tuesday the 4th of September 1847.

Sarah Chauncey Woolsey, eldest daughter of Charles and Abigail Chauncey,
died at Philadelphia, on Friday the 8th of February 1856.

Nathaniel Chauncey, youngest son of Charles and Abigail Chauncey, died at
Philadelphia on Thursday, February 9th, 1865.
