[Marriage Announcement] Schaeffer-Blum
Miss Marie E., youngest daughter of Chris Blum of Cassville, and Elmer,
youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schaefer of Fayette, Iowa, were married
in Galena, Ill., at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, march 19.  The best man Kenneth
Thompson and the bridesmaid Miss Effie Gottschalk, the bridegroom's cousin,
are both of Elkader.  The bride was becomingly attired in a dress of light blue
flat crepe; her bouquet was roses and carnations.  The bridesmaid's dress
was salmon color flat crepe.  The men wore blue suits.  After the ceremony
the bridal couple motored to Dubuque and from there to the home of the
bride's father near Cassville.  The attendants returned to Elkander, where
Miss Gottschalk is a teacher.  Mr. and Mrs. Schaefer left on a trip out west
and will spend a few weeks visiting relatives and other friends in different
places.  They will reside on Mr. Schaefer's farm east of Fayette.  He is a
young man of good habits and a practical and successful farmer, and his wife
an efficient helpmate; these qualities insure a happy home.  Congratulations
and best wishes to this worthy couple.

[obit] Anthony Meier
Cassville, Wis. - Anthony Meier, 81, died Saturday at the family home.
Services will be held at 10 p.m. Tuesday at St. Charles Catholic Church here
with burial in the church cemetery.  Friends may call at the Eckstein Funeral
Home after 3 p.m. Sunday.
The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. on Sunday and Monday.
survivors include his widow, Mary; three sons, John, Lancaster, Wis., Lavern,
Glen Haven, Wis., Norman, Milwaukee; three daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Phole,
Cassville, Mrs. Helen Colley, Bagley, Wis., and Mrs. Delora Bausch, Glen
Have; a brother Chris, a sister Frances Blum, 26 grandchildren and 11 great
grandchildren.

[Marriage Announcement]
Miss Henrietta Meier Becomes Bride of Clyde M. McKichan
Miss Henrietta Meier, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Meier, Cassville, and
Clyde M. McKichan, son of Mr. and Mrs. ernest McKichan, Mt. Hope, were
married in a 9 o'clock double ring ceremony at St. Charles church, Cassville,
July 5th.  The Rev. C. W. Haines officiated.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white net over
satin, with a Chantilly lace peplum extending into the nylon net skirt and
ending in a chapel train.  Her blusher veil was caught by a crown of braided
net and seed pearls.  She wore a lace picture hat and carried a bouquet of red
roses.
Patricia Meyer, sister of the bride, Cassville, as the bride's maid of honor, was
attired in a ballerina length gown of yellow net over taffeta.  Wilma Thole,
Cassville, cousin of the bride, was bridesmaid, and was gowned in blue
identical to the maid of honor.  They wore lace picture hats and carried white
carnations.
Both the bride and groom's mothers were gowned in navy blue dresses and
white accessories.
Ushers were Maurice Thole, Cassville, cousin of the bride, and Donald Ley,
Cassville, a friend.
Miss Kay Foehringer, Potosi, sang, accompanied by Mrs. Cap Adrian, organist.
A wedding dinner for forty was served at the bride's home.
After a wedding trip to Copper Harbor, Mich., the couple will live at Lake
Mead, las Vegas, Nev., where the groom is serving in the Navy.
