Holding the Flag
Maude Hunt Nasbinder and Levi White Hunt, son &  daughter of
Aaron Benjamin Hunt and Elizabeth (Dutton) Hunt.
This flag was hand made by Mrs. Levi Hunt (Mary Pricilla Kenyon)
in 1860 while in Page County, Iowa. In 1864, the Hunts started
across the plains with 49 other wagons on their way to oregon.
This flag was flying over their wagon throughout their journey.
There were 37 stars on the flag and it measures 6 feet by 12 feet.
The Hunts settled in the Little Elk Valley, Eddyville, Lincoln county,
Oregon in 1867.
The flag is in the possession of Florence Hunt (in 1978) who lives
just east of Eddyville on the Aaron Ben Hunt ranch. She is the
daughter of Arron Benjamin Hunt and the granddaughter of Levi
White Hunt  and Mary Pricilla Kenyon.
